For deep relaxation melting away your tension

Use your feet as a reflex map of your body

There are approximately 7,000 nerve endings in the human foot and each of them are a reflex point that corresponds to a body part. Reflexology is a non-invasive complementary health therapy and a very individual treatment which is tailored to you as a whole person, taking into account both physical and non-physical factors that might be affecting your wellbeing.

It is a touch therapy that is based on the theory that different points on the feet, lower leg, hands, face or ears correspond with different areas of the body. At Sesto Senso Wellness Care our reflexologists focuses on this reflex maps of points and areas of the body using unique micro-movement techniques, such as thumb or finger walking, with the goal of restoring the body’s naturally balance.

Usually, after a treatment reflexology can be effective in promoting deep relaxation melting away your tension. You might also notice yourself sleeping better and find your mood and sense of wellbeing improving.

Reflexology is not used to diagnose or cure disease, millions of people around the world use it to complement other treatments when addressing conditions like anxiety, asthma, cancer treatment, cardiovascular issues, diabetes, headaches, kidney function, PMS, and sinusitis.

Reflexology is a therapy which can be received by anyone at any age, from newborn babies to those receiving end of life care, and everyone in between.

Reflexology should not be used as an alternative to seeking medical advice.

How reflexology differs from a foot massage

These two treatments might seem similar, but there are some key differences. Both can be beneficial! Here’s what you can expect during a foot massage versus a reflexology massage.

Foot massage is usually done in a routine massage therapy and it is the manipulation of tissues to relax the muscles, relieve tension, and improve circulation. This can improve overall health and well-being.

Reflexology, on the other hand, the client can stay fully clothed and the reflexologist uses a targeted, pressure-point massage to restore the flow of energy throughout the body. The treatment usually focuses on the feet, but it can also include the hands and ears.
