Advanced Lomi Lomi Massage

Hawaiian Lomi Lomi massage is part of the traditional Native Hawaiian medicine and was used during Rites of passage or puberty and at other major life changes. It assisted a smooth transition and incorporation of these changes, leading to a sense of wholeness and peace. It was passed down in families until the early 1970s, when a few Hawaiian teachers began teaching this massage therapy technique to non-Hawaiians. The popularity of this technique spread quickly, and it's our honour to be the first center in Cyprus to offer traditional Lomi Lomi massages. Auntie Margaret Machado one of the first people who introduced Lomi Lomi to non Hawaiians describes it as the aloha touch.

Lomi Lomi Massage Therapies

Signature Lomi Lomi Massage

We also call it our “Aloha” massage. Our therapists work gently but deeply into the muscles, move around the recipient with flow, rhythm and ease, allowing the recipient to completely relax and enjoy the nurturing touch. They use their breathing to concentrate and help the energy flow freely so it can go where healing is needed by the body. Experience this special underbody strokes technique and enjoy an emotional and spiritual transformation.

The benefits of this treatment include body awareness, expansion of the mind and spirit and feelings of wellness, relaxation and rejuvenation.

Deep Tissue Lomi Lomi Massage

Our specially designed deep tissue Lomi Lomi massage is adapted to suit your individual needs and addresses specific areas that need extra attention due to stress, tension or athletic activities. Athletes have discovered that deep tissue massage promotes flexibility, reduces fatigue, improves endurance, helps prevent injuries and prepares their body and mind for optimal performance. The wonderful energetic effects that Lomi Lomi massage offers, will leave you feeling renewed, calm and at ease.

If you are a fan of deep tissue massage but also want to experience Lomi Lomi then this is your treatment.

Lomi illi illi - Hot Stone Massage

An amazing full-body sensory experience, possibly the ultimate relaxation massage & undeniably the most blissful. Specially gathered stones from our own rivers and seas are immersed in warm water during treatment and act as an extension of our hands. They are placed over the energy channels and are glided smoothly along the meridians in a firm, rhythmic sequence, using the long flowing strokes of the incredible Hawaiian  Lomi Lomi Massage.

The benefits of the Hot Stone Massage date back thousands of years and have been recognised by numerous ancient civilisations. It improves circulation and calms the nervous system. Muscle tension melts away with the heat and weight of the stones, while emotional and mental comfort is achieved through their “mana”- life-force energy, which is deeply nurturing and grounding.

This very special experience should not be missed!

Four-handed Lomi Lomi Massage

A massage that offers a different kind of experience – experiencing two full body massages at the same time. During the session, our two therapists work on the same person simultaneously and often using synchronized moves. They use the client’s body as a form of canvas onto which they paint slow, detailed moves of varying paces and pressure to target specific areas of the body.

It is even more relaxing than a conventional massage because the brain is unable to keep track of the four different hands moving over the body and after a few minutes it stops trying to make sense of all this information. As a result, you will feel fully immersed in the experience.

The inclusion of two or more hands certainly doubles the positive effects that a massage offers:

  • The intensity of the massage movements used realigns muscles.
  • It engages both hemispheres of the brain, leading to more relaxation.
  •  It improves blood circulation so that more blood is sent to the muscles and tendons, reducing pain.

This is a powerful treatment for anyone who has a hard time letting go during treatments.

Why is it different?

It is unique compared to other massages, as it provides a holistic approach to healing by balancing the body – mind in its physical, emotional and spiritual dimensions.

It incorporates the Hawaiian concept of aloha, which means love, unification and breath, and promotes personal harmony.

Also known as Hawaiian temple massage, kahuna bodywork or Lomi Lomi Nui.

During Lomi Lomi Massage

Lomi Lomi is based on the belief that memories are not just stored in the brain and mind, but also in every cell of the human body. The long, continuous strokes of the massage are designed to stop your brain from focusing on any one area and therefore aid relaxation and help the body to let go of its old patterns and behaviours, which can cause many stresses and strains as well as muscle tension

Our therapist will work with fingers, thumbs, palms, arms and elbows intuitively with your whole body using under body strokes, fluid, rhythmic strokes to release and shift tensions.

There is no set format for the massage itself, so no two Lomi Lomi massages will be the same.

The treatment may be slow and relaxing or faster and more invigorating, depending on how your body responds.

As traditional Lomi Lomi practitioners we focus on using breathing techniques, aloha, intention, dance techniques, hula movements and music/chants during your massage. This creates amplified and vibrating energy, promoting the release of blockages within the body, keeping the energy flow high.

Before your massage you will enjoy a nice hot foot bath with Epsom salts and essential oils to prepare you for your therapy and to give you time to discuss your massage plan.

After your treatment, we encourage you to have a shower to clean your body from the dead cells (due to the rubbing during the massage), to leave you feeling refreshed. We will provide you with a robe, sandals and towels to use.

You will need an extra 15 minutes for your scheduled massage.
