Massage through touch – “The art of healing”
Massage through touch – The art of healing
Did you know that touch stimulates the release of endorphin’s, the body’s natural painkillers?
There are approximately 5 million touch receptors in our skin, three thousand in each fingertip so make your calculations!
From the earliest days, touch has been an instrument of healing and a facilitator of concern and compassion.
Have you noticed that:
- when you feel pain your first reaction is to touch the painful area and rub it?
- when your child falls you rub their limbs unconsciously?
- when someone is crying you comfort them with a touch on their back?
- when you want to share your happiness with your spouse/child/friend you give them a huge hug?
Always remember that touch is your first means of communication with yourself and others!
The above is just a small introduction to the therapeutic qualities that systematic massage at regular intervals offers!
